Education is “one Key That Opens the Door; Experience Can Also Open the Door ”

As known, educated people have more chances to compete with others for a better position in society, achieve success in life, and build excellent career path. Being highly motivated and determined individual, I have always interested in exploring new sciences, fields of study, and disciplines. Biology and Chemistry have always fascinated me as they offered me a new look on things around and reminded that every observable phenomenon, whether physical or biochemical, always has molecular underwork. After High School I finally applied to Bioinformatics in U.C. San Diego. While Biochemistry really intrigued me, I could not help but feel a void with endless C-programming and labs. Time went by but I still struggled to hold my passion for science and stay in my major. I decided to take a quarter off and go back home to think about my inner true desires, interests, and dreams…

Write My Essay For Me

But challenges and difficulties along my life path only motivated me to go further, pursue my dreams, and achieve something bigger in life. Slowly, I realized that the activities I loved to do years ago, such as playing in the band, beatboxing, and cooking were all done in a community setting with other people. I felt I need something personal as well, so I started looking for careers that give me an opportunity to combine the two things I love. Of a variety of different professions, Pharmacy grabbed my attention and I felt that it is a chance to make a difference in life. I had a great opportunity to shadow a pharmacist back home. Dr. Park, in his sixties, demonstrated great professionalism in his discipline while being approachable. I had an opportunity not only to experience the balance of science, interpersonal interaction, and business but also realize what I really want to achieve along my further career path. By the time I went back to San Diego, I had a clear goal in mind.

Letting go of three years of work in UCSD was hard to bear but necessary. I decided to transfer to San Diego Mesa College and San Diego City College. A profession became not only my interest or goal, it became my passion. Of course, it required a lot of efforts and energy to dedicate in achieving my goal. Hard-work, determination and strong motivation to pursue my dream slowly helped me to cope with challenges, stress, and pressure. I spent two hours every day in public transit attending two colleges, and managed to take classes full-time through online and offline courses. My effort paid off as I graduated with 3.87 GPA. I am currently attending California State University at Chico, where I will finish my studies.

Sometimes physical strength is not enough to pursue the desired goal in life; it is very important to possess personal emotional strength and faith in inner potential. I have since been involved in community services and extracurriculars. I had a rich volunteering experience that taught me about the importance of cooperation with people, helped to develop a set of valuable equalities like responsibility, trust, and honesty, and helped to develop faith in personal self and abilities. During my volunteering experience, I also practiced my leadership abilities, an ability to solve conflicts, inform people and help them with difficulties. I realized that managing a group is physically and emotionally taxing but rewarding at the same time. I experienced tremendous growth in my character and academia since I realized my goal to become a pharmacist.

Education is “one key that opens door; experiences can also open doors” (Smith, 341). I had many good and bad experiences in last six years of my life, but all of them shaped who I am today. My past gave me an opportunity to grow as a person and I hope I can apply my experiences to excel in pharmacy school. My work and participation in volunteering projects helped to become more positive, active, cooperative, and engaging individual. Hardships and challenges along my life path only motivate me to go further and in pharmacy school, I hope my qualities and faith in personal self help me to grow as a professional that Dr. Park demonstrated to be.
