Write My Essay For MeThe bait is the advertised low-priced product, which in most cases is of low quality. The switch tactic applies when the buyer gets to the store to obtain the bait but is informed that it is out of stock. In turn, the salesperson encourages the customer to purchase a similar high-priced product. This sales tactic exemplifies deceptive pricing because the seller tricks the buyer to enter the store to purchase a low-priced item, but the buyer fails to find the said item and ends up buying a costly one.
The salespersons advertise a low-priced item that lures the customer to buy it, but once inside the store, he or she is convinced to acquire a high-priced commodity. The advertised product is stocked in low quantities or disparaged quality, and when the customer inquiries about it, it is no longer on offer. Thus, they are persuaded to buy an alternative commodity at a higher price than what they intended to buy. At times, business owners hike the prices of other products on the shelf that the customer is likely to pick as they seek to buy the advertised, low-priced item.
I was a victim of this practice when I entered an electronics shop to buy a television advertised at a fair price. However, the salesperson informed me that the television was sold out since it was just a promotion. In turn, he persuaded me to purchase another television that cost higher than the bargain-priced one. I had no option but to buy the television since I was in need of one, but walked out feeling cheated and dissatisfied.
